Your studio's lawyer, on a flat monthly fee

Ongoing IP, contract, and trademark counsel for studios that have outgrown DIY

A small team that does games and nothing else: a founding attorney who lives in the industry, a dedicated trademark attorney for filings and enforcement, and corporate support when you need it.

No billable-hour surprises. No "let me send you a quote" every time a contract lands in your inbox.

Sound familiar?

You're past the DIY stage

You're signing publishing deals, hiring contractors, licensing music, filing trademarks, and shipping on real platforms. Every one of those is a legal question you don't want to Google, and don't want a $450 invoice for either. So you put it off.

That's how studios lose IP, sign bad recoupment terms, and find out the freelancer still owns the art. A subscription fixes it. You get a game lawyer on call for one predictable price, so the legal stuff stops being the thing you avoid.

Prefer to pay once a year? Annual prepay gets you a month free. Works with studios nationwide, since trademark, copyright, and contract work isn't tied to a single state. Need corporate help like entity formation or a financing round? Our corporate attorney handles it at your member rate.

Legal house in order in 30 days, or your first month is free

In your first month you get a full risk map and a prioritized punch list. If we don't deliver it, you don't pay for that month.

Who this isn't for

Just starting out?

Pre-revenue solo devs doing their first LLC and copyright filing have a better starting point. That's what Speedrun Legal is for. Start there, then come back when you've outgrown the templates.

Questions

The fine print, in plain language

What counts as a "contract matter"?
One contract reviewed, up to about 15 pages, or one short contract drafted. NDAs, contractor agreements, music and art licenses, EULAs, terms of service, co-dev, revenue share, and manufacturing agreements all qualify. Bigger negotiations run at your member rate.
What's not included?
Court litigation and patent prosecution. Corporate work like entity formation and financing, contested trademark enforcement, and full deal negotiations are handled in-house by our team but billed separately at your member rate. Nothing gets shipped off to a stranger.
Can I change plans?
Upgrade anytime, downgrade at your next cycle. After a 3-month start, it's month to month with 30 days notice.
Do unused matters roll over?
No. Each month resets. Most studios settle into a tier that fits their real flow within a month or two.
Do you only work with studios in your state?
No. Trademark, copyright, and contract work is federal or non-court, so the subscription serves studios nationwide. State-bar limits only apply to court representation, which is out of scope anyway.
